Dragon Con 2010

Dragon Con is an awesome convention held every year on Labor Day weekend. I haven't been yet, but I'd love to hear info from people that have went.

I've been reading up on Dragon Con, and it looks like Jonathan Frakes and other cast members from Star Trek The Next Generation seem to attend yearly. I LOVE Star Trek, TNG and I think they need to bring it back!

Apparently at Dragon Con the convention centers around Sci Fi, Comics, and even Vampires. It looks like Kellen Lutz and Ashley Greene will be at the 2010 convention (from The Twilight Saga). It sounds so awesome!

So I'd love to get a lot more information about Dragon Con from people that have went there and attended. I love to know more about the events and any tips and hints that others would find useful. It looks like the hotels are already booked directly where the convention is held. Give the people some insider secrets!!!!

I've attended for the past five years. It used to be better, but it's still pretty epic. Sad to tell you all the host hotels have been sold out for months.

I noticed that, and I thought it was pretty wild that it was that way. Do you have suggestions on other hotels in the area?

I haven't been to Dragon Con before, so I did a search and it looks like Voltaire does attend each yearly Dragon Con and has since 1999.

I know this is an old post, but on the off chance no one has the info, yes, Voltaire attends annually (he attends the MMO track party with Artix Entertainment, if you can get into that one). I have been for several years. If you get a chance, the Saturday night party Moshi Productions hosts at the Hard Rock has several of the celebrities in attendance. Last year casts from: Twilight, Harry Potter, Eureka, BSG, Aaron Douglas, Edward Furlong, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Pirates of the Caribbean to name a few, were in attendance. The best place to stay is the Marriott, if you can get a room. Reservations go on sale on October 1, the YEAR before and sell out within 15-20 minutes. Not lying. The Sheraton is close, as well as the Hilton. The Hyatt - the elevators are horrendous. I would never stay there. Ever. They towers *may* be ok, as they are separate from the others. You must have a badge or a room key to get into the host hotels in the late evenings. It was very strict last year. It is better to pay more money and buy a badge onsite than ahead of time. The pre sale line is 3-4 hours. Hope that helps a bit.
